King Charles will reportedly "always keep the door open" for Prince Harry, but the Firm will not offer an apology, a royal expert has claimed.
It comes as Harry and Meghan have made a series of shocking claims in their six-part documentary Netflix series.
The show charted the early days of their romance, their engagement, their fairytale wedding and the dramatic lead-up to them sensationally quitting their royal roles for life in America.
But behind the fairytale facade, Meghan and Harry make claims including the palace planting stories in the press about them, lying to protect Prince William and feeding Meghan "to the wolves".
However, Royal expert Rebecca English, claims King Charles will "always keep the door open" for Harry and be willing to welcome Harry back into the fold.
The Royal Commentator also claimed the Palace had "bent over backwards" for Harry and Meghan, but did so in their own "funny little ways", which "probably wasn't enough" for the couple.
However, English claims the Palace made a "collective decision" not to comment any further on claims made in the Netflix show.
She told the Mail : "I do think there has been a mishandling of the situation on both respects, and Buckingham Palace definitely did bend over backwards to help him - I know that, I saw it with my own eyes.
"But of course they do it in their own funny little way and that probably wasn't enough for Harry and Meghan. I think there's probably a cause for reflection on both sides."
However, Prince Harry still hopes to reconcile with his father and brother despite the "fiery" comments in his Netflix show and in his upcoming 416-page memoir 'Spare', a source close to the Duke has claimed.
The insider claims Harry hopes that The King and The Prince of Wales will watch the series to understand his and Meghan's "truth" and see what they went through during their time as senior royals.
This comes after reports that the father and son duo have opted not to watch the series or responded to any claims made about The Firm so far.
"Harry is delighted with the narrative of the documentary and how he and Meghan came across,” said the source, who is a close friend of his late mother, Princess Diana.
"The reason for doing this was to share their truth on their lives. He feels it told the story he wanted the world to hear and has absolutely no regrets.”
The source added: "Harry and Meghan hope family members and courtiers will watch or, more importantly, listen to their comments. But they know nothing they speak about will be addressed in public.
"They hope it may prompt a greater understanding from the King and the [Waleses] of how Harry and Meghan feel about their experiences in England.
"Harry retains hope for a reconciliation. He loves his father and brother, no matter what people think.”
