King Charles waxwork unveiled next to Queen in Paris

A waxwork of King Charles has been unveiled next to his late mother in Paris.

The model of Charles III was unveiled with the monarch wearing a kilt, a grey jacket and waistcoat.

The King’s statue was unveiled at the Grevin wax museum next to Queen Elizabeth II.

Charles’ late mother stands in the hall in a typical bright green outfit with white gloves and bag close to her son.

The waxwork was unveiled ahead of Charles’ now cancelled visit to France.

The visit was called off due to the violent protests against Emmanuel Macron’s pensions reforms which have rocked the country.

Charles had been due to visit the Paris on Sunday and later Bordeaux where the city’s town hall has been set alight by protestors.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said of the deferral of the four-day visit: “Their Majesties greatly look forward to the opportunity to visit France as soon as dates can be found.”

The King’s visit to Germany from Wednesday will still go ahead.

A UK Government spokesperson said: “This decision was taken with the consent of all parties, after the President of France asked the British Government to postpone the visit.”
