With Christmas Day just around the corner, many people’s thoughts will be turning to what they will have for dinner to celebrate.
A key ingredient of any Christmas dinner is, of course, roast potatoes - crispy, fluffy, or deeply cooked, it totally depends on your preference.
But fear not - King Charles III has offered some timely cooking tips - and who’re we to ignore them?
The monarch says you shouldn’t be adding oil to your potatoes when you put them in the oven - and you can ditch your fancy duck or goose fats, too.
Instead, the King says that the best way to get them fluffy and delicious is to add fat from whatever joint of meat you’ve been cooking.
The monarch revealed the guidance during a visit to the Bradford HQ of supermarket chain Morrisons on Tuesday, as part of a two-day trip to Yorkshire.
Rebecca English, royal editor for the Daily Mail, posted the King’s hack on Twitter, where she also shared a video of him shaking hands with Morrisons workers.
Her tweet read: “At the Bradford HQ of @Morrisons The King offered his tip for the perfect roast potato (cook them in fat from the joint!) as he smelt an ‘irresistible’ rib of beef.”

King Charles’s top tip was also backed up by commenters on the tweet, as one woman responded: “His Majesty is absolutely spot on! Nothing better than a beef-dripping roast potato!”
Many people were quick to respond to the tweet, with lots agreeing with King Charles’s comments.

During the visit, King Charles spoke to people involved in farming, community, sustainability and the company’s apprenticeship programmes.
He also chatted to people who worked at stores around the region, telling them: “Thank you for your wonderful efforts. I hope they let you off at Christmas.”
Later, in a short speech, he told staff: “It’s a great joy to see you all today. I had no idea quite how many of you worked here at Morrisons.”
On Wednesday, a man was detained after he appeared to throw an egg at King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla on a visit to York.
Several police officers were seen restraining the suspect behind temporary fencing set up on Micklegate Bar .
The King and his wife were welcomed by city leaders, when the protester threw three eggs at them, all of which missed, before they were ushered away.
The man was heard to shout “this country was built on the blood of slaves” and “not my king” as he was detained by about four police officers.
