The coronation of King Charles took place Saturday morning at Westminster Abbey in London, England as a new king officially took his place. After the massive and intricate ceremony, Charles and Queen Consort Camilla took a gilded gold carriage to Buckingham Palace for their first balcony appearance.
As expected, Charles and Camilla were joined by Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with their three children. Some of Camilla’s family, normally an extremely private group, made an appearance as well.
Notably absent was Prince Harry, who has had a tumultuous relationship with his family in recent years. The balcony is reserved for working royals, so it’s not a slight against Charles’s youngest son. It was a moment, however, that left many wondering if he’d make an appearance.
