King Charles III shared a laugh with a woman who handed him a pen during his visit to Cardiff. It came after the new monarch was caught on video earlier this week becoming frustrated with a leaky pen while signing a visitors' book in Northern Ireland.
As the King greeted well-wishers at Cardiff Castle on Friday, September 16, Sky News captured the moment a woman gave him a pen and told him: "Just in case." King Charles chuckled while examining the gift.
The woman later told Greatest Hits Radio she and her companion had queued since 5am to meet the King, adding: "It was very surreal, very poignant, absolutely amazing. We had a little conversation with him and we gave him a pen. He took it really well.

"He took the pen with him and actually laughed about it... It was a pen from the Hilton, so quite a classy one — it won't explode."
More than 230,000 people have 'liked' the footage, which comes after another viral video showed the King losing his temper with a pen during a signing on Tuesday at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. After forgetting that day's date, he noticed his pen was leaking and he said: "Oh God, I hate this. I can't bear this bloody thing. What they do, every stinking time."
The King appeared to bring his own pen when he visited Cardiff for the first time since the death of Queen Elizabeth II. He took a pen from the inside of his jacket pocket to sign the visitors' book near the end of the Llandaff Cathedral service. He then handed it to the Queen Consort, Camilla, for her to sign too, before he put it back in his pocket.
The couple started their visit by attending a service of prayer and reflection at the cathedral before greeting crowds in the area during a public walkabout. The King spent several minutes shaking hands and speaking to members of the public. Camilla was presented with a posy of flowers by a young girl who grabbed her hand.
