King Charles III has resumed his royal duties following his recent cancer diagnosis. The 75-year-old monarch met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at Buckingham Palace in London, marking their first in-person audience since the announcement of Charles' illness. Despite his diagnosis, Charles appeared in good spirits, donning a blue suit and exchanging pleasantries with Sunak.

Charles expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received from the public, acknowledging the outpouring of love through messages and cards. Buckingham Palace disclosed Charles' cancer diagnosis on February 5, following a hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement. The statement indicated that Charles has commenced regular treatments and will continue to fulfill state business and official duties.

The King's decision to share his diagnosis was aimed at dispelling speculation and raising awareness about cancer. His son, Prince Harry, made a brief visit to Clarence House upon learning of the news directly from Charles. The Duke of Sussex expressed hope that his father's illness could facilitate reconciliation between them.

While the specific type of cancer Charles is battling remains undisclosed, reports suggest a positive prognosis due to early detection. Recent public appearances alongside Queen Camilla have shown Charles looking well, and he has expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement received from well-wishers.

Charles ascended the throne in May 2023 following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022. His commitment to fulfilling his duties despite health challenges underscores his dedication to serving the monarchy and the public.
