He's seemingly no stranger to enjoying a swift beer when travelling the UK and further afield on royal business.
So it's no wonder that one royal fan was keen to invite King Charles out for a pint while he was on his travels last year.
However, the monarch left well-wishers in stitches with his eye-raising yet quick-witted one-word response to the invitation.
It came last August before he acceded to the throne when Charles visited Birmingham's Victoria Square after being at the Commonwealth Games.
As he was spotted making his way through the square, local man Daniel Walker, who was on his way to meet some friends for a drink thought he'd ask the then Prince of Wales to join him.
Video of the encounter shows Daniel shouting: "Charles, Charles, are you going to go for a beer?"
The prince then turns around and says: "What?" and when Daniel asks him again, he cheekily replies: "Where?" leaving the crowds cracking up.
Daniel then tells him: "Anywhere, Albert's Schloss?" with Charles saying: "thank you so much."
But for the 32-year-old, that wasn't the end of his encounter with the King.
He explained to Birmingham Live after the chance encounter: "I walked around and I could see his security guard wanted to speak to me.
"I introduced myself and he said if you hang out here you can chat to him. I waited around five minutes and Prince Charles came over and asked me what I did and shook my hand.
"He said 'good luck with your ventures'. It's changed my view of Prince Charles. I thought the Royal Family was stuck up. I am all about laughs and jokes. My mates thought I was lying."
Charles is currently with wife Queen Camilla on a two-day visit to Northern Ireland - their first trip to the region since they were crowned earlier this month.
The couple arrived at Hazelbank Park in Co Antrim yesterday to cheers from waiting members of the public.
They were serenaded by school children and took some time to chat with the youngsters before officially opening the gates to the Coronation Garden.
Following the garden visit, the King and Queen went on to Hillsborough Castle in Co Down, the royal residence in Northern Ireland.
They met with pupils from a local primary school who have taken part in a competition to design coronation benches and later hosted a garden party there. Engagements in Northern Ireland continue today.
