King Charles evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage just 24 hours after his son's memoir Spare was released, it has been claimed.
The monarch reportedly began the eviction process on January 11 - a day after Harry's book hit the shelves.
Harry and Meghan, who have been living in California since they stepped down as senior royals, have not been offered another property on the estate, it is understood.
The Sussexes only lived in the cottage for six months before leaving the UK.
King Charles is planning to offer Frogmore to Prince Andrew, while Harry and Meghan are arranging for their belongings to be sent to their home in California.
In his memoir, Harry shared intimate details of his personal and royal life - including multiple references to his father Charles and brother, Prince William.
Now, a source told Page Six that King Charles began the eviction process just a day after Spare was published.
A royal insider told The Sun: "This surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan's time in the UK."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be "stunned" by the king's decision and two other royals have reportedly been left "appalled", according to a royal biographer.

Omid Scobie, one of the authors behind the biography of Harry and Meghan, Finding Freedom, said the King's decision came after Harry released his controversial memoir Spare in January.
He claims that the couple was told the property was needed for "someone else" and that relations between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Firm was at "an all-time low".
Writing for Yahoo, he explained: "It's news, sources tell me, that has left Harry and Meghan stunned, and at least two members of the Royal Family 'appalled'."
It is unclear whether Andrew has agreed to move into Frogmore Cottage with reports that he is "resisting".
A royal insider said: "Andrew is resisting the idea of moving into Frogmore Cottage after he was offered it last week. But it shows Harry and Meghan are powerless to stop the eviction."
The late Queen Elizabeth gifted Frogmore Cottage to Harry and Meghan following their wedding in 2018.
Frogmore was converted into one home in 2019, having previously been five separate properties for staff working on the Windsor Estate.
Harry and Meghan had been expected to let the Frogmore Cottage lease expire after they left the UK for America, but they reportedly committed to a new 12-month rolling deal last April.
In the meantime, the home was used by Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their young son August.
They then stayed there last year when they returned to the UK for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
It was where the young daughter Lilibet celebrated her first birthday, which coincided with her late great-grandmother's Jubilee weekend.
