King Charles and William will 'robustly' respond to any 'unjust' Harry and Meghan claims

The Royal Family thinks Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series will be slim on content – but are ready to come down hard on any unprovable claims, a source says.

Trailers for the show titled Harry and Meghan, out on the streaming platform at 8am today, have made ominous hints about what the pair will reveal.

In the series the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will claim the households of the late Queen, the King and Prince and Princess of Wales placed negative stories about them in the media.

But a Palace source said: “There’s a real feeling in the camp that Harry and Meghan are making a lot of noise and there isn’t much more to say.

“But preparations are being made for all outcomes, especially if there are unjust accusations being made.”

Officials from both Buckingham and Kensington Palaces will watch the first three episodes this morning.

But sources suggest they are unlikely to issue a response until the second half of the six part series is released next Thursday, to “have the full picture”.

The King and Prince William have spoken this week and briefed aides to be ready to issue a “robust” response if there is a feeling Harry and Meghan make unjustified allegations aimed at damaging the monarchy.

Harry and Meghan have vowed this is just the “beginning” and spoke of “sweeping down walls of oppression” on Tuesday evening while receiving an anti-racism award at a New York gala.

On arrival at the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights organisation event the couple had faced an awkward grilling.

One journalist called out: “Are you putting money before family, Harry?”

Sheepish Harry could be heard saying “so many questions” before they were escorted inside.

The first episode of Harry and Meghan will cover the couple’s relationship.

In the next two Harry and Meghan will suggest they were not adequately supported by Buckingham Palace.

In a trailer Harry spoke of a “dirty game” and “planting of stories” and “a hierarchy of the family”.

He warned: “We know the full truth.”

But show makers have had their own truthfulness questioned, as they used footage of press photographers at unrelated events to illustrate the idea of Harry and Meghan being hounded by paparazzi.

Netflix claim their show features commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never before spoken publicly about what they witnessed.

Historians will discuss the state of the British Commonwealth and the Royal Family’s relationship with the press. Oscar-nominated Liz Garbus directs.

Harry and Meghan signed Netflix and Spotify deals thought to be worth over £100million after quitting the monarchy and moving to the US.
