King Charles and Queen Camilla's big day is here - and they have kicked off their Coronation by heading to Westminster Abbey for their crowning moment.
The royal couple has left Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach after spending the night at Clarence House and are heading along the procession route to the Abbey to be crowned.
The pair waved to the crowds as they passed by in the coach, with the route lined with thousands of wellwishers and military personnel with Charles looking emotional.
Earlier, they made their first appearance of Coronation day travelling the short distance from their Clarence House home for final preparations at Buckingham Palace.
Crowds in The Mall cheered as they caught sight of Charles and Camilla being driven in a state limousine between the royal residences.
Arriving for the ceremony, the King wore the robe of state, a crimson Coronation tunic and cream silk overshirt with Royal Naval trousers.
The King’s Robe of State is made of crimson velvet and was worn by King George VI at the Coronation in 1937.
The cream silk overshirt is based on the design of similar overshirts worn by George V and George VI at their Coronations.
The Royal Naval Trousers belong to The King and are regularly worn as part of His Majesty’s Royal Navy full ceremonial tailcoat.
Meanwhile, Camilla's dress is designed by Bruce Oldfield and was created in Bruce Oldfield’s couture workrooms in Battersea, London.
The dress is cut from Peau de Soie, a silk fabric with a dull lustre finish, and woven by Stephen Walters in Suffolk, England. The dress has an ivory, silver and gold colour palette, with bracelet length sleeves, a strong shoulder and a wide V-neck neckline.
Her Majesty’s shoes are made by British designer Elliot Zed and are made of the same silk fabric as the dress.
At the Coronation ceremony, Charles will be anointed with holy oil, receive the orb, coronation ring and sceptre, be crowned and blessed during the historic ceremony.
He will be anointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury and take his oath to "maintain and preserve inviolably the settlement of the Church of England, and the doctrine worship, discipline, and government thereof, as the law established in England".
Camilla will also be anointed with holy oil and crowned, just like the Queen Mother was when she was crowned Queen alongside George VI in 1937.
Charles will be crowned in the St Edward’s Crown and leave the Abbey wearing the Imperial State Crown.
Camilla is to be crowned in Queen Mary's crown which has been altered to include some of the late Queen's jewels, such as the Cullinan III, IV and V diamonds which were part of Queen Elizabeth II’s personal jewellery collection for many years.
The coronation ceremony will end at 1pm and the newly crowned King and Queen will begin the procession back to Buckingham Palace in the gold state coach.
Some 4,000 sailors, soldiers, aviators and other military personnel from across the UK and the Commonwealth will accompany Charles and Camilla on their return procession. There will be more than 1,000 route liners from the Army, RAF and Royal Navy.
Charles and Camilla are expected to enter Buckingham Palace through the centre arch at 1.33pm.
They will receive a salute from the military in the palace gardens at 1.45pm, and then at about 2.15pm they will be joined by members of the royal family on the palace balcony to watch the flypast.
