But despite his popularity, Watson has retired - leaving hundreds "devastated", dubbing him "irreplaceable".
In a post on Facebook his retirement was announced. The post by Stephen Dalby said: "Well it is the end of an era!
"Our very own 'Maitre D' Dave Watson has announced that he will be hanging up his apron and retiring.
"Dave has worked tirelessly for over 10 years serving up thousands of cups of tea, burgers, sandwiches and even pork medallions served with black pudding and whole grain mustard sauce!
"One thing is for sure that each and every cup, sandwich or dish has been served with a friendly smile and in a heat warming manner, making everyone feel welcome and special, with nothing being too much trouble.
"It goes without saying that he will be sadly missed and his size 8 shoes and 42DD apron are going to be very hard to fill.
"We will holding a retirement do for Dave in the club on Saturday 19th March with everyone welcome.
"On behalf of the club and all patrons of the cafe we sincerely thank you Dave for all your hard work and commitment in making New Farnley Cricket Club a very special place and wish you all the best in a very well deserved retirement."
The cafe is often occupied by customers who have just been for a walk and want to enjoy some cake by the wood burning stove, breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks.
Hundreds of customers took to the comments to wish Dave the best of luck and shared sweet memories of being served by him.
