Kind-hearted Lanarkshire gran is this week’s ‘Say it With Flowers’ recipient

A Wishaw gran who shows "selfless devotion" to her family has been nominated for this week’s ‘Say it With Flowers’.

Kathleen Campbell was put forward for the award by her loving daughter-in-law, Keri Campbell.

The selfless 74-year-old is devoted to her husband Thomas and five children, Paul, Kenny, Thomas, Lisa and Michelle, and grandchildren Lewis, Mackenzie, Carter, Jack, Abi and Ollie.

Keri told Lanarkshire Live : “Kathleen is just an all round nice person. She does a lot for everybody else and doesn’t get the credit for what she does herself.

“I thought it would be nice for her to receive the recognition she deserves.

"She is going through an awful lot with her husband at the moment.

“She has done a lot for him over the last few years.”

And as well as being a full-time carer for her husband Thomas, who has secondary cancer, Kathleen is always there for her family and grandchildren.

Keri told us: “She does so much at the moment with Thomas being at St Andrew’s Hospice. She takes the bus back and forth to go and visit him in the hospice.

“She is such a selfless person and always thinks of others before herself and she is always there for her grandchildren and offers to take them away on days out.”

And when Keri told us about her amazing mother-in-law, we were only too pleased to help out, surprising her with a stunning floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

And on receiving the flowers Kathleen told us: “I would like to thank Keri for her kindness. I can’t thank her enough.

"I was over the moon and to the Wishaw Press for nominating me and Pixies Petals for the beautiful flowers.”
