Kimberly Wyatt exits Dancing On Ice in third place and won't dance Bolero

Kimberly Wyatt has been booted off Dancing On Ice - and will miss out on performing the iconic Bolero.

It is a Dancing On Ice tradition that the show's two finalists recreate Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean's iconic Bolero performance, which bagged them Gold at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics.

However, Kimberly will now unfortunately miss out on having a go at the routine as they placed third on the ITV skating show, behind Brendan Cole and Regan Gascoigne, who will now go on to compete for the trophy.

Speaking after it was revealed they'd be leaving, Kimberly said: "Thank you so much, this has been such a beautiful experience."

The three finalists had been faced by 'fix' claims - as they all come from dancing backgrounds.

Brendan Cole was on Strictly Come Dancing for several years as a pro dancer, whilst Regan Gascoigne is a trained dancer too. Kimberly Wyatt has plenty of dance experience to her name, having performed as part of the Pussycat Dolls for years.

The trio had previously opened up to The Mirror about what it would mean to win.

"I’m naturally a competitive person. I’d love to win. But it’s not at the forefront of my mind. I want to have an incredible last show, perfecting what we’ve all spent six months trying to perfect," Brendan said.

Humble Regan added: "I honestly genuinely can’t believe I made it this far. I’ve just loved every moment," whilst Kimberly shared: "You never know when your last opportunity is going to come to be a performer, so this has been a dream. To make it to the final and to hopefully entertain everybody and take them away from the worries of the world, that’s pretty special."

The iconic Bolero dance has become a Dancing On Ice favourite in the show's long history. Torvill and Dean have regularly recreated the beautiful dance, for which they were awarded twelve "perfect" 6.0 scorings.

The six in the scoring recognised the dance as being "outstanding" and the highest possible achievement. The performance had everyone talking, with people convinced the pair were dancing as the routine was so romantic.

"Boléro is very romantic, the media were convinced we were a couple," Jayne said previously, "One journalist said, ‘So, Chris, when are you getting married?’ and he said, ‘Not yet!’ And that was it – there were reports that we were going to get married."
