Kimberley Walsh has said it "wouldn't feel right" to hold a big celebration to mark Girl's Aloud's 20th anniversary without their bandmate Sarah Harding.
The much-loved singer passed away in September last year aged just 39 following a battle with breast cancer.
Her death sent shockwaves around the world from her family to her huge following of fans as they struggled to comprehend the loss of such a talented and loving person at such a young age.
But the loss has been felt most deeply by her bandmates who she spent so much time with during their rise to fame.
Speaking of her love for her late friend, Kimberley has opened up on her own grief and admitted none of the band are "in the right headspace" to consider marking the group's 20th anniversary this year.
She told the Daily Mail: "We’re not really in that headspace at the moment. It’s amazing that we’re coming up to 20 years and there’ll be lots of reminiscing personally for us as a group, the four of I’m sure will be looking back at old memories.
"But I think that our heads are not in a space to be doing anything as a band, it wouldn’t feel right without Sarah. But yeah, we’ll definitely be doing lots of reminiscing, it’s amazing that it’s been that long. 20 years, it’s crazy!"
The singer said any celebrations they do hold would most likely be private, but said they will be tinged with sadness due to the loss of Sarah making any reunion "bittersweet".
She acknowledged the band's huge following of fans, many who have followed their journey from the very start, but said she feels they "will understand how difficult it would be" for them to perform without Sarah.
Meanwhile, Kimberley shared her passion for presenting as she embarks on an exciting new chapter saying she sees her new role as 'natural progression'.
The mum-of-three, who has become a regular presenter on Morning Live and explains her career so far has been defined with her turning her talents to a new focus in each decade.
She explained: "I was chatting about it today and someone told me that I got into Girls Aloud at the age of 20, started my first professional role in theatre at the age of 30 and then now presenting at 40, so there’s a bit of a ten-year thing going on here!
"Each 10 years I seem to try a new thing so it does feel like a nice progression and I really love being on the show.'
The singer shares eight-month-old Nate, Bobby, seven and Cole, five, with husband Justin Scott, 39, and there family is complete as they are not planning anymore children.
