Kim Kardashian Sued For Allegedly Using Knockoff Furniture Designs

Kim Kardashian is facing a lawsuit from artist Donald Judd’s estate for allegedly using knockoff versions of Judd’s furniture in her Skkn by Kim office. The lawsuit claims that Kardashian's interior design firm, Clements Design, manufactured and sold replicas of Judd's designs, specifically the La Mansana Table 22 and Chair 84, which are valued at $90,000 and $9,000, respectively.

The Judd Foundation alleges that Clements Design deceptively advertised the knockoff versions as authentic Donald Judd furniture, using photos of the original pieces in their proposal to Kardashian. The foundation asserts that fans and art enthusiasts would expect Kardashian to own and display genuine Judd furniture, not replicas.

In response, Clements Design refutes the claims, stating that there are clear differences between the tables and chairs in Kardashian's office and the Judd Foundation's designs. The firm claims that efforts were made to resolve the issue amicably over a year ago, but the Judd Foundation was unwilling to settle on reasonable terms.

The Judd Foundation, on the other hand, expresses surprise at Clements Design's assertion that attempts were made to settle the dispute prior to the legal filing. The foundation maintains that Kardashian was sold fake copies of Judd's furniture, which she then promoted as authentic to her social media followers.

Ultimately, the Judd Foundation decided to pursue litigation to protect its intellectual property rights and the integrity of Donald Judd's designs. The foundation emphasizes that Clements Design refused to address the matter, leading to the legal action taken.
