Kim Kardashian has spoken on the moment she felt like she had made it in "high society".
The reality star, 41, has made it onto fashion's most-hyped RSVP list, the Met Gala - a fundraising event where anybody who is anybody hits the red carpet in a catwalk parade of extravagant costumes for a night of glitz and glamour.
Kim, who was previously reported to have been shunned from being among the VIPs in her earlier years of fame, spoke of the moment the tables turned - and how her ex husband Kayne West, 45, changed those in upper social circles perspective on her.
"I mean, when I was with Kanye, and he was introducing me to a lot of people, I think that definitely got a lot of people to have a different level of respect", Kim told Interview magazine.
By the time Kim was invited to the Met Gala, Kanye had already made his ascent into the high fashion world.
After working as a Fendi intern in 2009, he debuted his Dw by Kanye West label in 2011 and went on to launch his multi-million pound trainer company Yeezy in partnership with Adidas in 2015.
The couple, who are proud parents to four children, announced their split in 2021, with Kim being declared legally single earlier this year.
But Kim said it is not just her husband who has helped her be taken more seriously.
"I’ve also seen a s**t more recently—going to law school, just doing what I want and becoming my own person and people seeing that and respecting that. There’s levels to it," she said.
The reality star said she studies for two hours a day, every day, without fail.
Of being asked what is she 'famous for', Kim said: "Well, we have a TV show, but just because we’re not singing and dancing and acting on the show doesn’t mean that the fame didn’t come from that, but then, I would write that as a hashtag, 'not bad for a girl with no talent', because people used to be like, 'Well, what do you do? What’s your talent?' And I’m like, 'Didn’t know I needed one'."
The interview accompanied a racy photoshoot, where the reality star put her famous derrière on display once again.
Kim paraded her posterior by pulling her jeans down to reveal a jockstrap for the cover of 'American Dream Issue'.
The reality TV icon looked worlds away from her usual glamorous look as she showcased a more edgy look for the striking high-fashion images which saw the mum-of-four rock the on-trend bleached eyebrow look with minimal makeup.
Not one to ever shy away from flaunting her much-talked about figure, Kim upped the ante in the new photoshoot as her famous derrière took centre stage.
Lifting the lid on her exciting new shoot, Kim said: "Oh my god. I loved it. Working with Nadia Lee [Cohen]—we just vibe so well when we shoot together. She’s the first photographer that I’ve really gone full force with. The team was like, "No jockstrap."
"And I’m like, "Come on. This is what I do." I do best when I’m ignoring them and doing what I want. So, I’m glad we did it."
