Kim Kardashian 'really impressed' American Horror Story co-star on set of the new season

Kim Kardashian "really impressed" her colleague Zachary Quinto on the set of the upcoming season of American Horror Story (AHS)

It was announced back in April that the reality TV star, 42, would be a cast member on the twelth season of the acclaimed anthology show, which has since begun filming.

She is set to lead the season alongside returning cast member Emma Roberts, 32 - who's been in five previous seasons of AHS, which was co-created by Ryan Murphy.

Zachary, 46 - who appeared in three previous seasons of the show - has announced that he will make a "cameo" in the upcoming season and he has discussed co-star Kim.

The actor spoke about the award-winning show whilst attending the premiere for his latest film He Went That Way at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City this week.

He told People magazine that he got to meet Kim as he had a "cameo" on the new season. He said: "She was so lovely and warm and, really, I don't think she needs my advice."

Zachary further commented about her: "She seemed really in her element, and I was really impressed by her spirit and her openness. I really look forward to seeing this season because I think she's gonna do a wonderful job".

The new season of AHS is said to be based on the author Danielle Valentine's upcoming novel Delicate Condition, which is expected to be released in the coming months.

The Hollywood Reporter said the source material is about a woman who becomes convinced that a "sinister figure" is trying to "make sure her pregnancy never happens."

Ryan - who created the franchise with Brad Falchuk - told the outlet earlier this year that those behind the show are "thrilled" to welcome Kim into the "AHS family".

He added: "Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."

Zachary appeared in the first season of AHS (subtitled Murder House), the second season (Asylum) and the recent eleventh season (NYC), which was broadcast last year.

Emma instead appeared in the third season (Coven), the fourth season (Freak Show), the seventh season (Cult), the eighth season (Apocalypse) and the ninth season (1984).

The new season of the show won't be Kim's first acting credit, as she's previously appeared in projects like CSI: NY and Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.

Whilst attending the Met Gala in May, she spoke to Variety about AHS, with her saying: "It's really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow."

She added at the time that she was "excited" for the experience and when asked if she was taking acting lessons, she said: "I am, of course. It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself."
