Kim Kardashian mocked by fans over 'cheap' looking new SKIMS design

Kim Kardashian has been taunted by her fans after the new design added to her SKIMS clothing line was compared to a 'cheap' karate outfit.

Kim, 41, came under fire when she debuted the pricey pyjamas on Instagram – which retail at $128 (£114.80) – when her followers noticed they looked remarkably like a martial arts uniform.

The Drapey Sleep Set was labelled as 'cheap' by unimpressed fans of her clothing line as they struggled to see value in the price tag.

A description of the attire on Kim's SKIMS website reads: "This ultra-soft, elevated set effortlessly drapes over your body for lounging and sleeping.

Kim shared clips of her new design with fans on Instagram (Instagram)

"Wrap top features oversized sleeves, interior loop for hanging, and a self-tie for the perfect fit."

Kim posed in the set for a series of pictures and videos on her social media account as she sold the perks of the garments to her fans.

She said: "They're just like, so soft, this cotton."

In another clip showing off her creation she added: "... And here's the cream color. It's just super chill. It's like so comfy but like, super chic."

But unconvinced fans took to Reddit to discuss the outfit – and its similarities to what they might see the cast of hit Netflix Karate Kid sequel show Cobra Kai wearing.

One joked: "I am obsessed, guys. We have all the belt colors available in all sizes. I love my yellow belt. Can’t wait to level up." [sic]

A second scathed: "These look cheap as hell. The seams are so distinct and it looks like a wrinkle fest. You’ll be a tablecloth with Joanne’s discount fabric."

A third social media user quipped: "Kobra Kim."

The backlash isn't the first time Kim has found her SKIMS line coming under fire from her followers.

One fan recently posted on TikTok to warn women "not to bother" ordering from the collection if they are a size 14 or above.

In the video - captioned "Epic Skims haul fail!" - the customer highlighted how the sizing of the products is a failure for curvier women.

She ranted: "If you're a size 14 or above like me then don't bother! Don't think you will be snatched and gorgeous and have an hourglass figure it doesn't work."

The post sees Stephanie – a body positivity and self-love advocate – begin her haul video hopeful of the looks she was about to unveil.

However, things very quickly took a turn when she realised the sizing was not what she had been hoping for.

As she described one item she had ordered - the Fits Everybody Bandeau Bra, $28, in Clay - she expressed her confusion over how the 3XL size she had purchased was so tiny.

She said: "It's so tight in the back as well and it just digs under here [her armpits] like really badly. I do not understand how this is a 3XL."
