Kim Kardashian lost 16 lbs to squeeze into iconic Marilyn Monroe dress for Met Gala

Kim Kardashian lost a whopping 16lbs to fit into Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress for the 2022 Met Gala.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 41, wore the infamous outfit wore by the actress 60 years ago to sing happy birthday to then-president John F Kennedy on his 45th birthday.

The reality TV star set pulses racing on the red carpet as she proudly walked hand in hand with beau Pete Davidson while wearing the iconic gold dress.

Kim proved that she was dedicated to the incredible Met Gala look as she even bleached her dark locks for the special occasion.

While Kim had quite the task when it came to getting her hands on the iconic dress, it also proved difficult for the star to squeeze into it.

The reality TV star admitted that she lost 16 lbs in just under three weeks in preparation for the star-studded event.

"It was like preparing for a role," she told Vogue.

She also revealed that the Ripley’s team 'didn’t believe' she could loose so much weight in such a short amount of time, but the 'challenge' made her even more committed.

Kim is no stranger to making an entrance at the Met Gala - and while fans were expecting an extravagant look, few could have expected what was to come in what was one of her most iconic looks to date.

In their first ever appearance as a couple, Kim walked hand-in-hand with Saturday Night Live comedian, Pete.

The 28-year-old looked dapper as he donned a stylish slim-fit black suit and black tie combo alongside his leading lady.

Pete completed the look with a pair of black shades as he joined Kim arm-in-arm on the red carpet.

The pair have been dating since October 2021 after they met while Kim was co-hosting Saturday Night Live.

Since then, the lovebirds appear to have gone from strength-to-strength following Kim's divorce from ex-husband, Kanye West.
