Kim Kardashian forced to admits North West is 'not a singer' as she defends daughter joining Lion King cast

Kim Kardashian has finally conceded that her daughter North West is “not a singer” after online trolls criticised her performance in musical The Lion King last year, saying she only got the gig because of her famous parents.

The 11-year-old is the oldest of Kardashian and ex-husband Kanye West’s five children.

North West raised eyebrows when she landed the coveted role of Young Simba singing I Just Can't Wait To Be King for the live Disney production of the 1994 animated hit.

Now, Kardashian has addressed the issue and admitted she had agonised over the decision to let the youngster take to the stage in the latest episode of her family’s reality TV series, The Kardashians, which airs on Disney+ in the UK.

Discussing the potential opportunity for North with her sister Khloe, Kardashian said “I just can't decide,' to which Khloe advised: “You just want to make sure that you can set her up for success, because the world is just like mean.”

Noting: “I don't know if she can she sing Broadway...”

“That's what I'm worried about,” Kardashian admitted.

In a confessional, she later added: “I'm really torn on if I should let her do this or not. North is very comfortable performing, but she's not a singer, you know, she raps.”

Unable to reach a decision on her own, Kardashian admitted to her sibling that she had sought the advice of her rapper ex, who told her “It sounds cool”.

In a further confessional, she admitted that they had a '”family discussion about it, and right away she [North] was like, ‘Please mom, I wanna do it.’

“I mean, she's been on a stage with her dad, for sure, but as a mom, especially putting her child on a platform for a lot of opinions, it's something to really, really, really think about,” Kardashian added.

The show also showed a nervous Kardashian watching North at rehearsals as she went through the whole performance.

She later reflected. “I already know what's coming That she's not Whitney Houston, duh. That she got the job because of her parents. North is the moment, they wanna see North West on a TikTok, on a this, on anything, because she's a personality, a performer.”

She added: “And if anyone wants to hate on a child having the time of their lives, f**k you.”
