Kim Kardashian has been opening up about the reasons behind her break up from Kanye West.
The reality TV legend, 41, filed for divorce from the rapper, 44, in February 2021, after almost seven years of marriage.
Over recent weeks, the pair have been using social media to address each other about their lives post-split, but the original reasons for their pending divorce have never previously been revealed.
After keeping a dignified silence over the past year, Kim - who shares four children with the artist legally known as Ye - has now explained just why their relationship broke down.
Speaking in a new interview for the latest American edition of Vogue, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star admitted she had previously focused on what made other people happy.
"For so long, I did what made other people happy. And I think in the last two years I decided, I'm going to make myself happy," the mum-of-four confessed to the publication.
"And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy.
She added: "I've chosen myself. I think it's okay to choose you."
Since splitting from the Donda singer, Kim has embarked on a romance with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, 27.
Kanye - who is currently dating Julia Fox - doesn't appear to have taken his estranged wife's new relationship too well - taking aim at Kim's new beau on one of his new tracks last month.
Despite her ex's constant public digs at her and Pete, Kim has stressed she will never criticise Kanye in front of their four children; North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
"Make sure you are your co-parent's biggest cheerleader, no matter what you're personally going through," the SKIMS found maturly stated in her new interview.
The mum-of-four also seemingly hinted that she will ignoring her estranged husband's social media rants going forward.
"I’m going to eat well. I’m going to work out. I’m going to have more fun, spend more time with my kids and the people who make me happy," she stated during her latest chat.
"I’m going to put my phone down. Unfollow if I don’t want to see something on Instagram."
Kanye has been lashing out at Kim frequently on social media over recent weeks - particularly about how they both raise their four children together.
After the Grammy award-winning artist took to Instagram to criticise the mother of his children for allowing their eldest daughter to use TikTok, Kim broke her silence online and released an Instagram statement herself.
Kim wrote on February 4: "Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.
"It saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way."
