Kim Cattrall has revealed the one request she demanded from grovelling HBO producers in order for her to make an epic return as Samantha Jones for the second season of And Just Like That.
It has long been reported that there has been a feud between Kim, 66, and her former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, 58, with the rumours and allegations sprouting when the TV series Sex and the City ended in 2004.
While Liverpool-born actress Kim was noticeably absent from the first season of the And Just Like That spin-off - she is due to make a cameo in the second season of the hit show which is currently airing.
In a recent interview, SJP praised Kim's return as Samantha, stating that the entire And Just Like That cast and crew wanted to pay a great tribute to Sex and the City's upcoming 25th anniversary, and they were honoured that Kim agreed to a tiny cameo.
"It was an idea that we had that was really about our 25 years and celebrating that," she explained. "She had surfaced in the first season, but this simply taking those texts and it puts a face with it. A gorgeous face, that we love, and that the audience has loved."
However, Kim has now insisted that she only agreed to make a brief return as Samantha due to the fact HBO producers granted her the one request she demanded.
“It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’ And I went, ‘Hmmm… let me get creative,’” Kim shared about a phone call she got, seemingly from HBO executives.
The much-loved actress said she decided that she would give in and finally make a comeback if she was joined by her original Sex and the City costume designer, Patricia Field.
"I just thought If I’m going to come back, I got to come back with that kind of Samantha style,” she added. “I got to push it. And we did."
Kim's cameo is said to see Samantha on the phone with Carrie, with them not even in the same room while shooting.
Speaking about Kim's character Samantha making a return, SJP told MailOnline: "We've been really thoughtful about the ways in which we've, you know, approached characters that hadn't been around, the ways we have invited actors back, and it's been, you know, really fun and exciting and certainly nostalgic, but I think more than that, it's been a lot of joy."
