Kim Cattrall has addressed reports that she is set to reprise her role as Samantha Jones in the third series of Sex and the City spin-off, And Just Like That.
While original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon all reprised their roles in And Just Like That, Cattrall decided the reboot was not for her, making it clear she was done playing Samantha.
In the very first episode of And Just Like That, Cattrall’s absence is addressed in a scene that sees Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw reveal that Samantha ended their friendship.
The actress made a surprise U-turn when she made a brief cameo via a phone call during the season two finale.
While the two characters agreed to bury the hatchet, it was reported that Cattrall - who has been embroiled in a longstanding feud with Parker for years - recorded her dialogue without seeing or interacting with any of the show’s stars.
Her appearance delighted fans, however, who had hoped it would be the start of more from her when another series was greenlit.
But Cattrall has well and truly burst their bubbles by saying it’s not going to happen.
Taking to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, she told her followers that although she found the excitement around her rumoured return “very kind”, she would “not” be back for the next batch of episodes.
