Kilmarnock Women battled through a tricky cup tie with St Johnstone to set up a Scottish Cup quarter-final clash.
Lisa Swanson’s first half goal was enough to fire the Ayrshire side into the hat and seal a last-eight spot, with the draw taking place at 5.30pm tonight alongside the men's draw.
Swanson bagged her goal in the 16th minute as she worked hardest to get to a ball that was thrown over the Saints defence and she calmly converted.
Georgia Crooks found space on the edge of the box just before half-time and fired a shot towards goal, but it was stopped by the visitor’s goalkeeper.
Killie’s shot-stopper Lauren McGregor was called into action early in the second half as Saints attempted to pull one back.
The hosts were controlling the match as their midfield were winning battles in the middle of the park.
Alex Middleton whipped a teasing cross into the area in the 65th minute as Abby Robinson rose highest to win the header, but her effort went narrowly wide.
The hosts held on to secure passage into the quarter-finals which puts them one step closer to Hampden.
