David Watson says he's spending a summer in the gym as he aims to become a key player at Kilmarnock.
The teen midfielder broke into the first team in March and hasn't looked back, becoming one of the first names of Derek McInnes' team sheet.
He now wants to build on that and with a full pre-season behind is back he hopes to become a star for the Scottish Premiership side.
He said: “I’m going to try to put on a bit of weight over the summer and build myself up.
“At the start of the season I wasn’t really involved in the first team but now that I am I want to be consistent and make as many appearances as I can.
“I will try to build myself up. Obviously, I have a little bit of time to relax but then it will be straight back into it trying to get better.”
McInnes had no doubts his teenager would be able to survive in the harsh environment of the Premiership.
Watson added: “The main priority was to stay in the league so the fact we did means I’m buzzing.
“The manager gave me chances to go and prove myself and he has always given me confidence. He had the belief to play me and that meant a lot.”
“The manager is brilliant with the youth boys and always gets us involved.”
