Kyle Lafferty has sealed a deal with Kilmarnock as a spectacular return has been completed.
The 34-year-old hitman has penned a deal until the end of the season after leaving at the end of the last campaign.
Lafferty bagged 13 goals in as many games for the Ayrshire side last season when signed by ex-boss Tommy Wright.
The striker’s efforts weren’t enough to keep them in the Premiership and he left in the summer to join Anorthosis Famagusta.
But after another short spell abroad, Lafferty left the Cypriot outfit and Killie boss Derek McInnes has taken the former Rangers and Hearts hitman back in a short-term deal until the end of the season.
His task is to fire the Ayrshire side back to the Scottish Premiership; they are lying four points behind leaders Arbroath with 15 games to play.
He told the club's website: “It’s a great feeling to be back at Kilmarnock, I feel I have unfinished business here.
“The last time I played here we were relegated, which was a low point in my career so to get the opportunity to fix that and get Killie promoted back to the Premiership is something I’m excited about.
“I’m a huge admirer of Derek and his work at Aberdeen and getting the chance to work with him is really exciting.”
“Where he wants to take the club and how he saw me fitting in ticked all the boxes for me.”
