An iconic Kilmarnock nightclub will not be reopening due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bakers' doors will remain permanently shut with owners saying that it's not viable to keep going with clubs unlikely to be open this year.
The Fowlds Street venue opened around a decade ago, initially on John Finnie Street, before moving to their new space almost three years ago.
A statement from Bakers on social media said: "So, it is with a heavy heart we break this news.
"With the world being as it is now, we at Bakers have made the decision not to reopen.
"This decision did not come easy. It has been an emotional decision with heartfelt sorrow but with the probability of nightclubs not reopening this year it is just not viable.
"We had the best of times. From the old Bakers to the new.
"With the bands that graced our stage and the DJs that spun in our booths.
"To the nights of sheer madness with you packing us to the rafters. There is memories made that will live with us for the rest of our lives.
"Bakers was a Kilmarnock institution and will be spoken about for a long time. The old 'when I was your age we used to go to Bakers'."
The statement continued: "We cannot thank you enough for all the nights through all the years.
"We really were the best wee club in Ayrshire and you all made that. Our crowds were the best.
"You were diverse, fun, mad and sometimes a little weird but we love every one of you.
"You all made Bakers what it was and we will be forever thankful for that.
"Keep a wee eye out and an ear to the ground for a new project in the town coming in the not to distant future."
