Killing Eve season 4: UK release date, cast, plot and episodes

Killing Eve is set to return for the fourth and final season.

Liverpool's Jodie Comer and co-star Sandra Oh will be back on our screens as Villanelle and Eve for the final instalment of the popular BBC show.

Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

Jodie Comer previously told ITV This Morning viewers: "We just want to make sure we do it on a good note that's satisfying for the audience but is also truthful to the characters."

Here is everything you need to know about season four.

When and how can I watch Killing Eve in the UK?

Killing Eve Season 4 will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Monday 28 February, 2022.

Viewers in the United States will be able to watch the first episode slightly earlier via BBC America on Sunday 27 February, 2022.

The cast

The main cast will all return to the show including:

Eve Polastri played by Sandra Oh

Villanelle played by Jodie Comer

Carolyn played by Fiona Shaw

Konstantin played by Kim Bodnia

Camille Cottin will also come back as Helene, an operative of The Twelve, as well as Marie-Sophie Ferdane as Gunn.

Newcomers to the show include Anjana Vasan as a young new assassin called Pam, and Robert Gilbert as Yusuf, a former army soldier who is expected to assist Eve in her quest for revenge.

The plot

In a two-minute trailer for the fourth and final series of episodes for the much loved drama show, we saw Villanelle talking to her therapist about trying not to let her killer side get the better of her.

He said: "What's bothering you, Villanelle?"

She replied: "I don't like the way I feel. I killed two people last night when I tried really hard not to."

Meanwhile, Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw) gives Eve a new assignment, putting them on a collision course to encounter one another again.

In a tense preview, where the two characters meet again, Eve said: "If you’d really changed, you wouldn’t have come here."

Villanelle replies: "If you’d changed, you wouldn’t have led me."

The short clip teases at the death of one or both of the characters as it shows them having a discussion about dying.

The trailer ended as Eve asked Villanelle: "Do you know that fable about the scorpion and the frog?"

Villanelle joked: "They hook up?" before Eve explained: "They both die.

"Because the scorpion can't change its nature."

Villanelle replied: "Maybe you're the scorpion."

How many episodes?

The fourth and final season is expected to contain eight episodes, as in the previous three seasons, with one episode likely to be released per week.
