While the first couple of episodes of Killing Eve Season 4 were met with lukewarm praise, the latest episode has ramped up the drama.
The darkly funny and seductive spy thriller captivated fans with an explosive first season which followed the troubled MI5 agent Eve Polastri as she grew obsessed with finding the effervescent and volatile assassin Villanelle. Their tantalising game of cat and mouse has almost killed the pair of them, but they just couldn't shake their fixation.
Their bloody battle of wits is oddly sweet, and fans are invested in seeing how it ends. Will they find a happy ending together? Or, more likely, will they end up killing each other? Will Villanelle fulfil the name of the series by Killing Eve?

It's anyone's guess at this point, and it's really too early to call. In the meantime, here's the lowdown on Episode 3 of Season 4.
Killing Eve recap - Season 4, Episode 3 - A Rainbow in Beige Boots
Episode 3 opens with a shaken Villanelle breaking into Eve's hotel room, seeking refuge. She's a shell of her former self.
In her prime, Villanelle would never throw on a half-hearted disguise, and not bother adopting a new accent and persona. But here she is skulking about, seemingly in need of Eve's approval.
Eve, on the other hand, seems to be thriving. She's an insanely good detective, using her cunning to track down who pulls the strings of the Twelve, keeping a casual relationship going with Yusuf.
When Eve turns up and sees a showered Villanelle sat on her bed, she's cold and refuses to help. So Villanelle does something completely out of character - she goes to see a therapist.
Of course, she doesn't do it in the conventional way. Instead, she turns up at the house of Martin, a psychotherapist who works with serial killers and psychopaths at Broadmoor, and takes him hostage until he gives her a therapy session.
She wants to change, Villanelle says. Martin, albeit against his will, helps her reach a breakthrough to realise that she was trained into her murderous ways so she can be trained out of them, too.
Meanwhile, Eve runs into Hélène's ex-girlfriend, Fernanda. She pretends to be Nicole, a kindred spirit, also heartbroken and dumped.
Eve learns that Fernanda is the Cuban wife of a Russian high roller who wound up with Hélène’s interest after he suddenly disappeared. Poor Fernanda, abandoned by her husband, Hélène and now Eve.
But, for what it's worth, she gave Eve some important truths: Villanelle is playing games with her, and the games can only continue if Eve lets them.
And this time, she doesn't. She turns up at Martin's house as Villanelle accidentally knocks him unconscious.
We finally see them share an emotionally charged moment, with Villanelle suggesting that Eve is the Scorpion in the fable of the Scorpion and the Frog. Yet Eve did something she should have - morally - done a long time ago; she turned Villanelle in to the police.
It's quite a moment when armed police enter the building and Villanelle looks at Eve. Again, she seems to be broken, far from her old self - this time by Eve's betrayal.
In this episode we also catch up with Carolyn in her shabby Moscow hideout. She's heading off to Cuba to track down the latest victim of a mysterious torturer.
Oh, and do you remember Pam, the mortician being groomed into an assassin for the Twelve? After stabbing her cliched-villainous brother to death, Pam's proven she's going to be an interesting problem for Hélène, Eve and The Twelve.
The series could still head off in any direction, but it's only a matter of time before Villanelle is busted out of prison and the confrontations with Eve begin afresh. Will Villanelle be in vengeful mood? And when will Eve meet her match as she hunts the true masterminds behind the Twelve?
