Jodie Comer made an "insecure" admission as she collected a prestigious award.
The 29-year-old from Childwall has conquered the world of film and TV since her star-making role in Killing Eve. Jodie has went on to establish herself as one of the most in demand stars in Hollywood as she has consistently wowed audiences with her stunning performances.
She added a new string to her bow this year when she took on her first theatre role in the one-woman play, Prima Facie. Jodie plays a talented young barrister named Tessa in the powerful play, who is forced to confront the patriarchal power of the law after she is abused.

Jodie's commanding performance has won universal acclaim from critics and her portrayal received award recognition when she picked up the The Stage's Debut prize at a ceremony on Sunday night.
The Scouse superstar's acceptance speech was read out by a stage manager of the show. In the speech, Jodie admitted she was hesitant about the role as she has no formal theatre training.
She said: "I remember so clearly my disbelief when seeing the Prima Facie script in my inbox. I was confused as to why it had been sent to me and questioned whether I had to ability to execute something that felt so important and mighty.
“Having not been to drama school, this self-doubt was an insecurity I carried with me for a very long time and it was only because I was met with the most generous and supportive group of people that I was able to run at this opportunity and give it everything I had.”
She added: “As someone who has spent a lot of their life feeling like theatre was unattainable, or something I wasn’t educated in enough to do, this acknowledgement feels like a very warm welcome. So thank you for this support. It means more than you know.”
