A cannibal who killed his Grindr date and sliced off his testicles to eat has been found guilty of murder.
Mark Latunsky, 53, lured 25-year-old hairdresser Kevin Bacon back to his home on Christmas Eve 2019 before cutting his throat and hanging his body from the ceiling of his basement in Bennington, Michigan, in the US.
After stringing his victim up, he proceeded to cut off his genitalia before eating them, the 53-year-old told police.
It has previously been reported that Latunsky removed other body parts which he also ingested, according to MLive.com.
After almost two days of testimony, a district court judge found Latunsky guilty of first-degree murder yesterday.
According to court documents, the victim was aware of Latunsky's violent sexual fascination before they met.
His lawyer, Mary Chartier, argued that it wasn't Latunsky's intention to kill Mr Bacon.
She also claimed the fact he let cops into the home with full awareness of the body swinging from his basement ceiling pointed to him being psychologically impaired at the time.
“A person in Mr Latunsky’s place in his mind should have fully appreciated the consequences of the murder,” she said.
His defence also claimed that a text message Latunsky sent Mr Bacon asking if he had any health issues that may cause a problem with their fetish suggested he did not have the intention to kill him.
Latunsky was charged with murder and mutilation of a corpse on December 30, Georgia News Time reports.
Mr Bacon's disappearance was reported to police after he missed a planned Christmas Eve breakfast.
Cops traced his car to a supermarket car park before further GPS tracking showed he had travelled to Latunsky's home.
He had been using insanity defence but just as his trial was due to start on October 18, he changed his plea.
Mary Chartier, Latunski's lawyer, had pleaded with him not to plead guilty as he has a history of mental illness, according to reports.
Another twisted cannibal from Russia who was rumbled when a headless body fell out of his car has been recruited to join the ranks of Vladimir Putin's blood-drenched mercenary unit.
Yegor Komarov said he "nibbled to just take a taste" after a headless and repeatedly stabbed corpse fell out of his car when he crashed his Mitsubishi into a fence in St Petersburg.
He now counts himself among the ranks of the Wagner Group, a battalion of ruthless shadow mercenaries linked to atrocities across the world.
It comes after the private army's leader Yevgeny Prigozhin was filmed inside prison recruiting convicts, including vicious murderers and sex offenders.
Russia Behind Bars Director Olga Romanova said among the prisoners is a "killer" who has cannibalism "in his portfolio".
