Kieron Dyer says Newcastle United are still in the hunt for top-four football despite dropping points at Bournemouth. The Magpies have drawn five of their last six games in the Premier League but are also through to the Carabao Cup Final later this month.
Newcastle supporters will travel to Wembley for the first time in two decades to face Manchester United and much of the talk in recent weeks has been about the showpiece finale. However, former Magpies midfielder Dyer has rubbished talk of Eddie Howe's side having one eye on their date at Wembley.
When asked if focus had become more about the Carabao Cup than the Premier League, Dyer told Sky Sports: "No. Again, the results went for them today.

"No one gained points on them today competing for the Champions League. They've still got the Champions League to play for and the cup.
"I expect them with their home form and their crowd, the way it is at the moment - that party carnival atmosphere - it's a tough place to go to St. James' Park. They'll fancy themselves at against most teams."
Former Newcastle manager Souness said: "You played there a long time, I think supporters would rather have the trophy than qualify for the Champions League. I think as a professional - I get that cause it was 1969 the last time they won a trophy - I think ask the people upstairs I think they'd rather be in the Champions League.
"The profile that gives you, the spending power that gives you. It's a long, long time since they won a trophy so how do you prioritise?
"The danger is, these guys aren't serial winners. They haven't won very much so they might prioritise the Carabao Cup."
