Kieran Trippier makes demand of Newcastle team-mates amid Alexander Isak admission

Kieran Trippier insists goals need to come from 'all over the pitch' as Newcastle United were frustrated in a second successive home draw. The Magpies' winless streak in the Premeir League was stretched to six games after Eddie Howe's side were held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted Bournemouth.

Newcastle enjoyed 73% of possession and registered 20 shots, but struggled to break down a stubborn rearguard action from the Cherries. Philip Billing fired the visitors into the lead just after the hour mark, but a penalty from Alexander Isak just five minutes later ensured the spoils were shared.

The summer signing has now netted twice in his first three black-and-white appearances, and former Atletico Madrid star Trippier is confident the Magpies already have an 'all-round striker on their hands'. However, the England international insists the burden for scoring goals does not fall solely on Isak's shoulders, and believes the return of two injured stars will make Newcastle an 'even bigger threat'.

Trippier told the Mirror: “He’s slotted in straight away and, in training and games, it’s like he’s been here for ages, but it’s more about developing as a team and finding his strengths. Everyone has seen what he’s all about. I’ve played against him in La Liga. When Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson come back, we’ll be an even bigger threat.

“He plays off the shoulder, he’s quick, he’s good in the air. We’ve got an all-round striker, at such a young age. He’ll keep growing and will keep scoring goals for us, that’s for sure. But we need goals from all over the pitch, not just him. We’ve created so many opportunities the last couple of games. we just need to start putting them in.”
