Kieran Trippier grows 5cm on FIFA 22 after being added to Newcastle United squad

Kieran Trippier has now been added to the Newcastle United squad on FIFA 22, following his move from Atletico Madrid.

The 31-year-old joined the Magpies on January 7 from Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid side for a fee of around £12 million-plus add ons, and made his debut for the club in Newcastle's defeat to Cambridge in the FA Cup, before making his Premier League debut for the club last weekend against Watford.

The England international won La Liga last season with Atletico, with the full-back having an impressive campaign, having also contributed to England's run to the Euro 2020 final.

As such, Trippier is far and away the highest-rated Newcastle United player on FIFA 22, with the former Manchester City defender having an overall rating of 84 out of 99, some three ratings higher than the next-best Magpies player, Allan Saint-Maximin.

But his profile was changed upon being added to the Magpies squad on FIFA 22, and the changes are a bit strange to say the least! After being added to the Newcastle squad in the latest update, EA Sports increased Trippier's height from 173cm to 178cm, a height increase of 5cm, or 0.16ft.

And the weirdness doesn't end there because Trippier's weight has also been increased from 69kg to 71kg, a weight increase of 2kg, or 4.4 pounds!

His stamina has also been reduced from 87 to 86, whilst his balance has actually been increased, from 77 to 79.

Despite these changes, Trippier has some really impressive individual attributes, with high attributes including curve (86), crossing (86), stamina (86), ball control (82), FK Accuracy (82), short passing (81), standing tackle (81) and reactions (81).

Trippier's overall rating of 84 makes him one of the best full-backs in the Premier League on FIFA 22, having the same rating as Ricardo Pereira, with only Kyla Walker, Joao Cancelo and Trent Alexander-Arnold having a higher rating on FIFA 22 than Trippier.

There has been a few other changes to the Newcastle squad on FIFA 22 in the latest update, with players like Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Ryan Fraser and Joe Willock all downgraded.

However, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron have all been upgraded in the latest update, which is supposedly based on their real-life performances for the Magpies over the last few weeks.
