Kieran Tierney 'suggested' as transfer option to Jose Mourinho amid Celtic links

Kieran Tierney has been suggested as a potential transfer option to Fenerbache manager Jose Mourinho amid reports of a return to Celtic.

Turkish outlet Sporx claims that Tierney was mentioned to Mourinho as he seeks to add a left-back to his squad this month.

The renowned Portuguese boss is said to know the 27-year-old well from his time working in England, although Tierney's injury history remains a question mark.

Links to Turkey come amid widescale reports that the Scotland international is close to agreeing a pre-contract to return to his boyhood club, Celtic, on a free transfer in the summer.

Tierney rose through the ranks at Parkhead, making 170 appearances for the first team before completing a then record-breaking £25m move to English Premier League giants Arsenal in 2019.

He isn't renewing his contract in North London, though, and is available for free at the end of the season.

Brendan Rodgers worked with the defender during his first stint at Parkhead, and despite links to Mourinho's Fenerbache, Tierney could well reunite with the 51-year-old in Glasgow this summer.
