Kieran Tierney sent Arsenal call to arms amid Man City compliment and 'genuine' exit chance

Fired–up Mikel Arteta has told his Arsenal squad 'I need all of you' as the Gunners fight to land their first Premier League title in 19 years.

And that bodes well for Scotland hero Kieran Tierney who is hell-bent on producing a telling impact amid his heroics for Steve Clarke's side. The 25-year-old was an unused substitute during the 4-1 win over Leeds but that fixture came days after he hobbled off during the 2-0 win over Spain at Hampden. Tierney's long-term future in north London remains uncertain with a fresh report stating there's a "genuine" chance he exits this summer. Newcastle remain long-time admirers of the Celtic hero.

However, Tierney remains a key member of the Spaniard's squad and has been told by his manager every player will have a role to play in the final weeks of the season after he moved to hail the impact of utility man Rob Holding and his role he played against Leeds.

Speaking after the victory over Leeds, Arteta said: "I am happy because we need everyone. We had injuries unfortunately in the last few months, long-term injuries & the team somehow has to find a way to keep winning & keep performing. It’s great to see.”

The big games keep coming for Arsenal and they travel to Anfield on Sunday acutely aware three points would push them closer to title glory Meanwhile, former Manchester United striker Andy Cole insists Tierney would be a fit at Manchester City if a move materialises this summer.

Speaking to King Casino Bonus, he said: “I like Kieran Tierney, he's had a few problems with injuries but he is talented. If Arsenal are prepared to sell him, he would not be struggling for options. If Manchester City are in for him, I could see that working, but he'd be competing with Ben Chilwell who is linked to Manchester City too. Tierney will want to play, and if he doesn't continue to get any game time, he'll be looking to go somewhere else in the summer.

“If you look at Tierney's situation previously, you have to ask what did he actually do wrong? He's never let Arsenal or Mikel Arteta down, of course he's had a few injuries but he's always played well. He's a kid with a brilliant attitude. If he sees a chance to get more game time I'm sure he'll put his head down and work for it, but I would not be surprised if he took the option to move on and play more.”
