Alan Hutton has named Kieran Tierney as one of three English Premier League players who would be 'brilliant' signings for Newcastle United.
Eddie Howe's men are edging closer to securing Champions League football next season after a stunning domestic season. They reached the Carabao Cup Final but lost out at Wembley to Manchester United but they've been in the fight for the top four all season and have now created an eight point gap over Tottenham - having played a game less.
The Toon Army will likely dip into the transfer market this summer to add further quality and depth to their squad. Celtic diehard Tierney is struggling for game-time under former Rangers midfielder Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and he is one that would be a 'great fit' at St James' Park according to pundit Hutton.

Southampton star James Ward-Prowse and Leicester City midfielder James Maddison are two others he thinks Howe should target in the summer. Speaking to Football Insider, the former Ibrox defender said: "All of them would be brilliant signings. Ward-Prowse has been excellent this season, and James Maddison and Kieran Tierney are two others who would be great fits at Newcastle.
“Newcastle are taking the right steps since their takeover I think – the complete opposite of Chelsea who have spent hundreds of millions on too many players.
“Eddie Howe is doing a fantastic job building a unit that can play with each other and progress. The names mentioned, most of them are in relegation fights and Newcastle can pounce and pick up some good deals.
“So Newcastle are in a good position and you can see that they want to build for the future, and players will want to be a part of that.“
