Kieran Tierney labelled 'absolute snip' at £30m as Arsenal end game predicted by Rangers hero

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has urged Kieran Tierney to jump at the chance of getting regular first-team football away from Arsenal.

The ex-Celtic left-back has struggled for game time this season under Mikel Arteta which has led to speculation that he could be heading for the exit door at the Emirates. According to reports a number of English Premier League teams are in for the Scotland international including top four chasing Newcastle United. Eddie How is believed to be an admirer of Tierney, however the Toon boss may have to fork out around £30 million for his services.

Ferguson believes the fee touted is an "absolute snip" for Tierney and believes he will want to play more than he is already. Since the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer and the changing of formation Tierney has only started a handful of games for the Spaniard this campaign.

Despite the lack of game time for his clubs Tierney is expected to start for Steve Clarke when Scotland take on Cyprus and Spain in the Euro 2024 qualifiers at Hampden this week.

Ferguson told Go Radio: "He'll be frustrated and he'll be desperate to go and get minutes, which he's not getting at Arsenal. I think he's that type of character. I don't know him personally but judging him by watching him and listening to him, come the summer I don't think he'll be at Arsenal. And if I'm a top six English Premier League team, I'd be in for him in a heartbeat.

"If he becomes available, and for the price they're talking about as well, at £30million - if you look at some of the full-backs that have moved in England for double that, I think it's an absolute snip."
