Kieran Tierney could be thrust into Arsenal's Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid next week.
Mikel Arteta's side are in the midst of an injury crisis at the back, with several key players on the sidelines.
Defenders Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu were already out before centre-half Gabriel and full-back Jurrien Timber both had to be withdrawn in a 2-1 win over Fulham last night.

Although Tierney remained on the bench for the encounter, the 27-year-old, Miles Lewis-Skelly, Jakub Kiwior, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko are Arsenal's only current fit defenders.
That means the Celtic-bound star could be handed an opportunity against the Champions League holders at the Emirates Arena next Wednesday.
Boss Arteta opened up on his team's injury crisis after last night's victory: "We don’t know how they’re [Gabriel and Timber] going to be," he said (Record).
"We’ll be assessing them tomorrow [Wednesday] to understand better how we are with those two. There are two players in this team that never want to come off and it’s those two, probably.
"Gabi felt something in his hamstring. Jurrien was already struggling very early in the game. He managed to continue [but] at some point, he couldn’t.
"Calafiori, Ben White, Jurrien and Gabriel Magalhaes – you can imagine [how I feel] with those four players in the defensive line in one week. We have still another four that are so bloody willing that they will do their job."
