Kieran Tierney hit by 'naughty' tackle amid rare Arsenal outing

Kieran Tierney was on the end of a 'naughty' challenge during a rare outing for Arsenal last night.

The left-back - who will return to Celtic this summer having agreed a pre-contract with Brendan Rodgers' side - started at left-wing for the Premier League outfit in their Champions League showdown with PSV.

Mikel Arteta opted to rotate his squad having demolished the Dutch side 7-1 in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie.

It was only the 27-year-old's second start of the season, as the Gunners were held to a 2-2 stalemate in north London.

Tierney lasted most of the match and was only withdrawn on 79 minutes as Gabriel Martinelli replaced him in the attacking third.

Thankfully the Scotland international appeared to come away unscathed from a late challenge by veteran wing-back Ivan Perisic.

The former Tottenham player sparked fury from Arsenal's star after a hefty lunge on KT.

The referee decided not to brandish a card for the tackle, which ultimately seemed to be brushed off by Tierney.

On TNT Sports commentary, Lucy Ward said: "Perisic is just a bit late, it's a little bit naughty from him.

"Tierney knew that he was coming and expected something but he's been absolutely clattered. Jorginho there, telling him, I don't know what that was all about mate."

Adam Summerton added: "That seemed to be a 'you knew what you were doing there mate' type comment."
