Kieran Tierney Arsenal future latest as Newcastle 'plot £30million plus' transfer for Celtic diehard

Kieran Tierney could move to Newcastle United from Arsenal in a move costing in excess of £30million, according to a report.

The Telegraph state that Eddie Howe is a long-term admirer of the Celtic diehard and a new left back at St James' Park this summer is a transfer priority. Dan Burn, who usually operates at centre-back, has spent much of the season on the left side of the back four.

Scotland international Tierney has found minutes very hard to come by at the English Premier League leaders this campaign due to the form of summer recruit Oleksandr Zinchenko. Former Gunners full-back Mikael Silvestre branded the task of dislodging the one time Manchester City star as 'impossible' for KT earlier this week hailing him a 'special player'.

Mikel Arteta has handed the 25-year-old just NINE minutes of action in the last eight EPL matches with most of his game time coming in the Europa League and domestic cups. He featured in every group game and will hope for a rare start this midweek in the knockout stage first leg with Sporting Lisbon. They face off again in the return next week with Steve Clarke also watching on keenly in the hope one of his star man lands much-needed minutes.

The report states that the Toon Army will plot a move if the Gunners are willing to sanction a deal. He joined the North London side in 2019 for £25million from Celtic and still has three years to run on his current contract.

Arsenal currently lead the way in England's top flight with a five point cushion. They needed a last gasp goal last time out against Bournemouth to complete a stunning 3-2 comeback win at the Emirates after finding themselves two goals behind.

Manchester City are second with 12 games still to play in this campaign. The pair meet at the Etihad on April 26 in a game that could have a huge say on the title destination this season.
