Officers had to step in when a group of children playing football refused to move to allow the air ambulance to land.
Paramedics were called to Sugar Stubbs Lane in Banks at 11.59am today (February 13), to reports a cyclist had fallen off their bike. The air ambulance was scrambled to the playing fields of King George V Sixth Form College, to assist.
The college's playing field, on Scarisbrick New Road in Southport, is a designated landing space for the helicopter. But children playing on the fields refused to move to allow the aircraft to land, and Merseyside Police were called.
