‘Kidcaster’ Eddie Kraus stole the show with his impeccably smooth delivery during Mets-Rockies

Normally when the Mets play on locally-broadcasted SNY, it’s Gary Cohen diagramming all the regular season action. On Thursday night, with Jacob deGrom and New York taking on the Rockies (+340) at home, someone else took over the lead mic for a little while.

Eddie Kraus, 12, won the 2022 SNY Kidcaster Contest. His prize? Sitting in the booth with Cohen, Keith Hernandez, and Ron Darling to help out with the play-by-play during the bottom of the second inning of Thursday night’s matchup.

And folks — while looking sharp in a suit with an orange and blue tie — he absolutely NAILED it when calling a hit by Pete Alonso:

Man, that young man didn’t miss a beat at all. And he’s only 12? Yeah, we very well might hear from Mr. Kraus in the future.
