Kia is out with its updated ranges and pricing on the company’s new 2024 EV9 3-row electric vehicle trim, along with reservation dates and new information on charging capacity.
The SUV EVs come in five models and prices, with vehicle reservations set for an Oct. 16, 10 a.m. Eastern 2023 green light. There’s a fully refundable $750 deposit required with the reservation, Kia reported. An added destination charge of about $1,300 comes on top of the listed price, bringing the total entry point price to just over $56,000.

The new Kia SUVs come with three usable rows of seating, and base models come with a smaller battery and single-motor performance. Overall, the vehicle is rated favorably as a “slam dunk” by Car and Driver.
Getting your reservation in early can trigger a series of gifts and rewards from the carmaker, which is adopting an aggressive marketing position with the EV9 Series.
For starters, Kia will offer a “suite of gifts” for early reservation customers with the following swag attached.
- A Webasto Go Dual Voltage Portable EV Charger.
- A complimentary three-year Kia Maintenance Plan.
- One year of available Digital Features & Services.
- All customers purchasing or leasing the all-new EV9 will also garner a 1,000-kWh charging credit with Electrify America.

The EV9 3-row vehicle comes with amenities not usually linked to Kia’s lineup of relatively affordable, middle-class-oriented vehicles line-up, which is likely by design given the high-end vibe attached to its new EV SUV vehicle.
Listed at $54.900, the EV9 Light RWD will come standard “with DC fast-charging capability on an 800-volt architecture, accommodations for up to seven passengers that promises 300 miles of charging range, 19-inch alloy wheels, 8-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seat with heating and ventilation,” Kia noted.
The vehicle also features a seamless permanent magnet synchronous electric motor sporting 215 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque.
Additionally, the rear-wheel-drive, 201-hp EV9 Light Long Range “replaces the standard battery with a 99.8-kWh battery and offers captain’s chairs for second-row passengers,” Kia stated.
The EV9 also comes with an Onboard Power Generator V2L to power appliances for picnics, tailgates, beach excursions, and camping trips.
While those traditional middle-class Kia customers may not immediately take to the $54,900 entry price on the EV9 Models, it’s actually a decent price for a seven-seat EV compared to similar vehicles out on the market.
Kia also recently announced its plan to switch to North American charging stands in late 2024 and will be able to offer its vehicle owners access to 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Kia’s upcoming shift to CCS1-to-NACS (Combined Charging System) adapters will mean virtually all Kia EVs will be chargeable on Tesla’s network by early 2025.
