Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks had to leave the game against the New York Knicks on Sunday due to an injury. Middleton was hit in the mouth during the second quarter, causing him to fall to the floor. The incident occurred when Donte DiVincenzo accidentally struck Middleton in the face. Shortly after, Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein fell on Middleton's back while landing a shot.
Following the impact, Middleton signaled for assistance from the Bucks' staff and was seen with blood coming from his mouth. Subsequently, it was announced in the second quarter that Middleton would not be returning to the game due to mouth trauma.
Interestingly, Middleton's injury coincided with the return of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the two-time MVP, who had missed the previous game against the Toronto Raptors due to a left hamstring issue. This game marked one of the rare occasions in the past 29 games where the Bucks had their top three players, including Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and seven-time All-NBA guard Damian Lillard, all available for play.
