Khloe Kardashian admits she feels 'less connected' to her son as he was born via surrogate

Khloe Kardashian has opened up about struggling to form a bond with her baby son after he was born via surrogate.

The 38-year-old welcomed her second child via surrogate in July 2022 with her ex Tristan Thompson.

She gave birth to her daughter True when she became a mother in April 2018.

And she's bravely admitted that she feels "less connected" to her son after not experiencing the pregnancy this time around.

Speaking to Scott Disick in episode one of the new series of The Kardashians, Khloe admits: "The surrogate process, Kim knows is really hard for me."

Khloe's older sister Kim, explains: "She had a really hard time accepting the whole process."

Khloe admits that welcoming a child via surrogate is a "mindf***" and adds: "It really is the weirdest thing."

Agreeing, Kim says: "I do think that there is a difference when the baby is in your belly, the baby actually feels your real heart.

"Think about it. It touches your organs. There’s no one else on this planet that will feel you from the inside like that."

Scott then asks Khloe if she feels "less connected" to her baby boy and she answers, “Um-hm" and adds: "This is not easy."

In a confessional, Khloe admits that she was distracted while her surrogate was pregnant with her son.

And rightly so because in October 2021 - Khloe and Tristan had gotten back together, unaware that the basketball player had conceived his third child with another woman.

"I definitely buried my head in the sand during that pregnancy, that I didn’t digest what was happening and so I think when I went to the hospital [for the birth] I really think that was the first time it really registered," Khloe said.

"It has nothing to do with the baby. It’s just you’re like, okay we’re having a baby and this is my son and I’m taking him home with me. I definitely was in a state of shock.

"I think from my entire experience in general, I felt really guilty that this woman had just had my baby and I take the baby and I go to another room and you’re sort of separated.

"It’s such a transactional experience, it’s not about him. I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s still great, it’s just very different."
