Khabib Nurmagomedov makes mocking prediction for Jake Paul fight in response to call-out

Retired UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has laughed off Jake Paul 's offer to fight him in MMA.

YouTube star turned boxer Paul is preparing to make his MMA debut this year after improving to 5-0 in the ring in 2021.

Nurmagomedov opened the door for Paul to fight in his promotion Eagle FC, writing: "The doors of Eagle Fight Club always open for you and your team."

Paul agreed to join the promotion but only if Nurmagomedov would be his first opponent, stating: "Deal. Only if I fight you first."

And Nurmagomedov has laughed off Paul's demand by claiming any fight would be over quickly.

"Come on, come on Jake Paul, I don't think so," Khabib told the Full Send podcast of a fight with Paul. "In MMA, a couple of minutes."

Nurmagomedov then seemingly touched on a video of Paul being choked out by AJ Agazarm in 2017.

"What do you think? He can fight with me. He's a little bit too late. I watch a sparring or some video were he did MMA with someone, he has to learn a lot.

"Boxing, he knows how to punch. His boxing game is not bad, but wrestling is completely different."

"If he wants to fight in MMA, we can give him chance. We can sign him [to Eagle FC] and we can pay him. We'll see."

Nurmagomedov officially retired from MMA last year after promising his mother he wouldn't fight again without his late father, Abdulmanap.

'The Eagle' defended his UFC lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in October 2020 for the final time before retiring with a flawless record of 29-0.

He has turned from a fighter to a promoter and coach as he hopes to produce world champions for his Eagle FC promotion.

'The Problem Child' originally planned to improve to 10-0 in boxing and win a world title before crossing over to MMA.

But he is now keen on making his debut this year with the Professional Fighters League promotion reportedly interested in signing him.

Paul is "excited" by the idea of fighting Nurmagomedov and thinks he would be able to out-strike the former UFC champion.

“I would fight Khabib in MMA if they wanted to make that offer, cause that would be exciting. That would excite me, especially if I had more time to train," he told The MMA Hour.

“That would be a massive fight. Probably a million, two million pay-per-view buys and all I would have to do is work on my wrestling skills. Cause I could out-strike him standing up.”
