KFC 'running out of chicken' and warns of shortages as branches pause popular offers

KFC branches have reported running out of chicken - forcing the chain to pause one of its weekly food offers.

The fast food company reportedly issued a memo to all branches claiming the WOW Tuesday offer would be paused due to a lack of chicken on the bone.

The meal also comes with a side order of beans and a can of Pepsi Max - but fans will have to wait at least another week to see if the deal is resumed.

In the memo issued to branches, management said: "Due to the shortage of COB [chicken on the bone], we are again pausing the WOW Tuesday offer.

"We will confirm our position for the remainder of the window once we have confirmed supply."

It continued to say the WOW offer would still be available at tills if there was chicken on the bone to order and said it aimed to "avoid as much guest satisfaction as possible".

It also advised branches could replace the "Tuesday Big Deal" banner with a "Family Feast" and "Mighty Bucket for One", reports The Sun.

Last year the popular chicken fast food chain also experienced a mass shortage of some items.

In an alert to customers, KFC said there may be food shortages in some of its restaurants following weeks of "disruption".

At the time they took to Twitter saying customers may find "some items aren’t available" and its packaging "may look different".

On the latest WOW Tuesday shortage, a KFC spokesperson said: "Recent supply chain challenges have meant some of our restaurants are facing a few shortages.

"We don't want our fans to miss out, so to ensure we can continue to serve around the cluck, we've had to temporarily pause our Tuesday deal. Despite that, it's service as usual - all thanks to our incredible team members.

"They’re doing a brilliant job keeping the fryers going, so please be kind to them."
