International chicken chain KFC is trialling an incredible new flavour combination in 40 restaurants - and if people love it it could be spread across the UK.
The restaurant known for its chicken coated in a secret recipe batter is now putting chunks of that chicken inside two sweet glazed ring donuts.
Diners at the 40 restaurants chosen for the trial can also try it in a basket, reports The Mirror.
The sweet/savoury combo is currently being trialled at 40 branches in the Norfolk,Richmond, Virginia and Pittsburgh areas of the United States with a view to rolling it out more widely if people like it.
The sandwich has been priced at $5.99 (£4.80), with the fried chicken and donut meal costing $5.49 for chicken on the bone or chicken tenders paired with one donut.
This can be purchased with two donuts for $7.49 or if you just want a single warm donut, you can add that on to any meal for an extra $1.
A spokesman for KFC said: "Consumers are increasingly seeking novel, crave-able flavour combinations that give them the best of both sweet and savoury worlds to create a unique taste experience.
"Through this test market, KFC is evaluating consumer appetite for bringing this growing food trend to its customers on a national scale."
People on social media are already having mixed feelings about the donut sandwich.
One person tweeted: "This looks disgusting, when can I try it."
Another wrote: "KFC wants us to die so badly."
A third added: "This chicken sandwich obsession has gone too far.
