KFC fans furious as fried chicken chain confirms huge loyalty scheme change

KFC fans have been left furious after the fried chicken chain confirmed a huge shake-up to its loyalty scheme.

Regular customers will soon no longer be able to use the Colonel’s Club to collect stamps, which can be exchanged for free food and drinks.

At the moment, you get one stamp when you spend £3, or spend £15 and you get two stamps.

Once you’ve collected enough stamps, you can then claim your free reward.

Those who have between three and six stamps can collect a free side, including fan favourites such as two wings or popcorn chicken.

If you have seven to ten stamps, you can pick up a regular snack item, such as popcorn chicken or a mini fillet burger.

Having more than 11 stamps gets you £5 off your next order, and can be used against any menu item.

KFC confirmed its stamp scheme will be closing on July 26 in an email to customers.

It said: "It's time for a change, so stamp collecting is on the way out. It's been great, but we've got our eye on something else."

KFC has said there will be a new scheme coming, but hasn’t yet published details.

Customers have since taken to Twitter to share their anger over the news.

One fumed: "So annoying. I' m one stamp off £5 off!"

Another commented: "Hi, I just heard that stamp collecting will end soon. What will happen to current rewards that aren’t redeemed yet? I’ve got the £5 off saved."

A third said: "Stopping stamps... But what about stamp rewards we've already collected, will they be valid until the original expiry date? E.g Sept 2022 for me."

However, KFC has confirmed that customers will still be able to use up any stamps that they’ve collected.

If you have three stamps or more from July 26, you'll need to redeem and spend them within six months.

KFC will also boost your reward up to the next tier if you're just below receiving the next freebie.

If you have less than three stamps in your account when restaurants close from July 26, you will be able to qualify for a free side.

If you have between three and six stamps, you will be able to get a free snack.

Those who have between seven and ten stamps in their account will be credited with £5 off their next spend.

You have three months to redeem and spend boosted rewards.

A spokesperson from KFC confirmed: "It’s true, all good things must come to an end and our loyalty stamps will be ending this month.

"But don’t fear, it’s not goodbye to our loyal flock. Just like our famous recipe, what comes next is a closely guarded secret.

"Watch this space – it won’t disappoint."
